If you have not heard of Beautycounter, the two most important things you need to know about it are: (1) it was started by a woman and (2) it prohibits the use of over 1,500 harmful or questionable ingredients when formulating its products. I started using Beautycounter products a few months ago. I had heard about the brand and was curious to find out more about it from someone who actually uses the products. One of my best friends, Stephanie, introduced me to Danielle, who is a consultant with Beautycounter. We had a little girls’ night where Danielle talked with us about the brand and also showed us different products based upon our needs. The line ranges from skin care, make-up, bath and body, to baby products. As I run out of skin and make-up products, I am replacing certain items with products from Beautycounter. So far I have been very pleased with my purchases and have definitely noticed a difference in my skin. Right now Beautycounter is having a 20% off sitewide sale with the code LOVE, so if you have been wanting to try it out, now is the time! The sale ends tomorrow. Please click here to shop the sale and support my girl, Danielle’s small business.
The skin care items I regularly use and recommend are
- Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion. This a great everyday face lotion. It is lightweight and provides continued hydration throughout the day. It does not feel heavy on your face at all.
- No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil. Hands down, this is my favorite BC product. It contains seven natural oils and it leaves your skin feeling so soft and looking radiant. It has an awesome citrus smell. I use this as part of my morning routine and put the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture lotion right over it.
- Cleansing Balm. I use and love the Colleen Rothschild cleansing balm and this Beautycounter balm is very similar. It comes with a muslin cloth to wipe everything away. This balm can be used to clean your face, as an eye make-up remover, overnight mask, or to soothe any irritated skin, or sun burn.
- Overnight Resurfacing Peel. This peel contains a combination of both resurfacing acids and soothing acids and can be used everyday. I have definitely seen an improvement in my skin with continued use of this product.
- Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream. This eye cream contains key ingredients to help reduce the fine lines and shadows around your eyes for brighter-looking eyes. It is lightweight, but very nourishing.
- Charcoal Cleansing Bar. I am obsessed with this charcoal deep-cleaning bar. I use on my body (not my face) and my skin feels so fresh and so clean!
- No. 3 Balancing Facial Mask. I try to use this mask once a week. It is a clay mask with activated charcoal.
- Protect All Over Sunscreen and Protect Stick Sunscreen (Face). Both of these items are “last chance” items, but, BC also has a new line of sunscreen which I am sure are just as good as the original. I love both the lotion and the face stick. The face stick is perfect for me to use on Amelia because I can get her face covered quickly. Anyone else’s child hate having sunscreen applied? Both products go on easily and provide amazing protection.
The make-up items I regularly use and recommend are:
- Illuminating Cream Highlighter. I have this in Rose Glow. As you know from my everyday make-up post, I mistakenly bought this product thinking it was a cream blush. However, I use this product daily and layer it on my cheeks to get the desired color on my cheeks. This product is really designed for those days you want to wear little make-up, but still have a little glow to you.
- Color Intense Lipstick. I bought this lipstick in Twilight and it is perfect for those days/nights I want a pop of color. This lipstick has peppermint oil in it which makes it very refreshing when you put it on.
- Lip Gloss. I bought this gloss in Azalea, which is a bright pink color. The gloss is very moisturizing and has a vanilla flavor.
These are items I recently purchased but have not used yet. I will give you an update when I have.
