August Goals Recap.

Happy September! If you recall, at the beginning of August I told you all I wanted to work on setting monthly goals and use my blog as a way to hold myself accountable.  Well, the end of August has come and gone and here’s how I did.

My goals for August were as follows:

  1. Blog 4 times a week.
  2. Transition Justin, Amelia, and I into a new morning/evening routine now that Amelia is starting VPK and we will need to be out of the house at an earlier time.
  3. Meal plan at least 3 lunches and 4 dinners a week.
  4. GET BACK TO WORKING OUT at least 3 times a week.
  5. Start coming up with ideas for my 40th birthday (ugh!).

Goal #1: I rocked this goal! I am proud of myself for sticking with this goal and for taking the time to plan out posts.  Life happens and sometimes I didn’t get a post out when I wanted to, but, I know that to make this blog a success, I have to give good content and be consistent with my posts.  Also, in case you didn’t realize, I also have an Instagram account for the blog and I post on there too.  So, please go follow me on Instagram.  If you go to the home page of the blog, you will see my Instagram on the right hand side, click on the picture, and you can follow me from there.

Goal #2: I also rocked this goal.  Transitioning and getting into a routine went way better than I expected.  We have a good system down and thankfully, Amelia is really liking her new school, which makes things a million times better.  I touched on some things I’ve been doing in my Home Organization post which have contributed to an easy transition.

Goal #3: I failed miserably at this one.  A lot of weeks, I had good intentions and bought items at the grocery store to meal prep, but, it just never happened.  One thing that I did do was buy ReadyPac salads and kept them at home and work – so, at least I had some ready to eat meals on hand.  I will have to keep this goal on my list and try better this month.

Goal #4: I also failed miserably at this goal.  I really want to get back to working out and would like to join a gym with classes.  I did Pure Barre for awhile, I’ve tried the Beach Body workouts, I’ve done HIIT workouts at a fitness center, and my most recent fitness program was the Faster Way to Fast Loss which incorporated home works that were awesome! But, I really want to get back to a class atmosphere.  I’m thinking about joining the YMCA.  I was a member a loooong time ago and I remember it always had a great assortment of classes – plus, there’s childcare.

Goal #5: I half met this goal.  I do know that my mom, Amelia, and I are going to take a trip to NYC in December to celebrate my 40th and Amelia’s 5th.  So looking forward to it and seeing the city decorated for Christmas.  The three of us did a NYC trip 2 years ago to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday and we had a blast! I would like to do something more low key for my actual birthday, maybe a dinner or BBQ for the Florida State/Florida.  I will try to finalize plans by the end of this month.
